A common question about SEO is “how do you measure its success?”  You can measure SEO success in a variety of ways.

  • Increased rankings
  • Increased traffic
  • Increased revenue

They all coincide.  If you have increased rankings, you should incur increased traffic.  If you incur an increase in traffic, you should experience an increase in revenue.  Obviously, the traffic quality matters.  You can’t go out and use a shady fulfillment service and just buy traffic and expect to get any sales.  Chances are, you’d get 0 sales.

SEO is not only about rankings.  However, proper SEO should bring targeted traffic, which should increase conversion rates, which should increase revenue.  Below is another image of success that represents the large number of keyword increases that SEO National has provided to yet another client.
